The catalyst for Change is a fundraiser for Wernle Youth and Family Treatment Center.

I've been blessed to be their photographer now for about 4 years.  Of course, last year was COVID.  This year was unique.  About 200 attended and some were on zoom.  The guest speaker Justin Tuck had a family emergency, and two other honorees were unable to attend.

So thankfully, there are ways to prerecord their acceptance speeches and you can always mail their award.  smile

The dedication of the staff, vendors, auctioneers, and more made this a truly successful fundraising event for many last-minute changes occurred. They were amazing and so were the guests.

I had the privilege of working with the kids this summer teaching a 7-week photography class.  They were quick learners, dedicated and so responsible that we didn't use the small cameras I have for teaching.  They used all of my studio equipment, cameras, and lights.

You will see a few of the Catalyst photos from the evening's activities and then you'll see some of the work from the Wernle Students photography compositions.  They were submitted and printed for the silent auction.  There was a young man, a recent graduate from High School from Wernle that was recognized for all of his accomplishments.  He set goals and has already achieved more than many of us would in 6 years.  I had the chance to meet him when he started the photography class.  He left our class because of his job schedule.

I was proud to hear his story and to have been a part of a 4-hour journey with him this summer.  Wernle I'm sure is always ready to accept donations to help serve the children and families in this community.  There are so many ways to give, volunteering, donations, and I'm sure more.  I love volunteering and they are one of the ministries we support.

Congrats to all.  I enjoy being your event photographer!  I don't know how much was raised but everyone worked really hard and gave from the heart.

The guitar in the photo was signed by everyone in the band Chicago!  How cool is that?
